I JUST SAW THE "REVENGE OF THE SITH" TRAILER! MANY TIMES! AND... OH MY GOD!
It is AMAZING. I know I haven't posted all the GP quotes yet, but this cannot wait.
It's incredible. It's breathtaking. It's awesome. It gave me chills. It made me fangirl scream not just the first time I watched it but the first THREE TIMES. That's how awesome it is! And it doesn't get old!
It is chilling. I think that's an adjective I haven't used yet.
Okay, the first shot is "a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away..."
And then it has Alec Guiness over a montage of scenes (Luke from ANH, early Clone Wars from AOTC, Anakin from AOTC) saying, "For over a thousand generations the Jedi Knights were the guardians of peace and justice in the Old Republic. Before the dark times. Before the Empire. A young Jedi named Darth Vader, who was a pupil of mine until he turned to evil, helped the Empire hunt down and destroy the Jedi Knights. Vader was seduced by the dark side of the Force."
Anakin turns to the camera, slowly, with yellow Maul eyes. Terrifying to see.
Shots of Mustafar, the lava planet, which will look SO awesome on a big screen.
Then blackout. Then the voice of Darth Sidious saying, "Lord Vader." Vader's answer: "Yes, Master?" Sidious, in the creepiest voice ever-- freaks me out every single time I hear it: "Riiise."
Vader being raised on a sort of panel thing. Smoke and steam everywhere. And Vader.
More shots: The Battle of Coruscant, which looks visually stunning. Mace fighting hard. Yoda with his saber in hand. Padme looking absolutely horrified, verge of tears. Padme and Anakin kissing. Padme hugging Anakin in the sweetest, most loving way... with Leia buns! Real, honest-to-God Leia sticky bun hair! Not just dancing around it like in the other movies. And it looks great on her. Proof that anything looks great on Natalie Portman. (envies). Threepio and Artoo in the corridor of the Tantive IV-- so recognizable, so cool. Wookiees! A whole bunch of them, and they look awesome! I can't even believe some of them are CGI. Tion Meddon, very creepy looking and snarling. A huge ship-- the Republic capitol ship I believe-- on fire, with other ships trying to put the fire out. Again, visually stunning. We're going to see some great Coruscant landscapes. And... and... I've saved the best for last... The Duel. You know what Duel I mean. There are a lot of duels in this movie, more than in any other, but there is only one that matters, now and always. Obi-Wan vs. Anakin. On Mustafar. Sabers clashing to a background of lava. Anakin chokes him with his mechanical hand ala Captain Antilles! (Somebody's a little choke-happy today, no?) And then Anakin forcing Obi-Wan down to the ground, the most purely hateful, evil look on his face... a look that just says, "I know you were my Master. I don't care. That's over. I hate you now. I have everything now." And Sidious... evil, evil Sidious... with a red saber. Swinging it wildly. Cackling.
Whoa.
This movie, as Rick McCallum would say, is going to be "f***in' AWESOME!"
