I'm sorry. What was the question?

Let me know if you know who made this.
This is my initial reaction to the fifth season premiere of The Office.
Oh. My. GOD! OH MY GOD OH MY GOD OH MY GOD OH MY GOD!!!
EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
I can't believe it. I still can't believe it! Yes, Bones totally rocked me last night, too, but I couldn't post then, and it's coming, but I just have to get this out now because... OH MY GOD!
JIM AND PAM! JIM HALPERT AND PAM BEESLY ARE ENGAGED!
JIM AND PAM ARE ENGAGED!
Okay, I could have an entire post with just those words over and over and over again, but I won't. I will tell you my thoughts. Beyond the already stated.
I am SO HAPPY.
I did not see that coming! Seriously, who saw that coming? NOBODY! I was totally going to do a belated "my predictions for this season of The Office" post (it's been a crazy busy stressful week, what can I say?), but there's really no point in that now, because this episode just pretty much blew everything I might have been able to say out of the water. Except for Ryan being the receptionist. I totally called that, yo. Ask Michael or Bethany.
I'd heard about the proposal in the rain, but my impression was that it was going to be something like five episodes in, and I was worried that by that time Pam would have had so much Fancy New York experience that she might not have said yes.
NEVERMIND.
Because she DID say yes, and now they're ENGAGED!
They planted faux-obstacles in the episode to keep us off the trail. And for the past weeks, Jenna and John especially have been giving misleading answers to reporters' questions, planting doubt in our minds. THAT was some Emmy-worthy acting, my friends.
JOHN KRASINSKI YOU ARE A FILTHY LIAR, YOU WONDERFUL MAN!
Even though I knew the proposal-in-the-rain spoiler, I did not get at first that it was happening. Yes, it was raining. I just thought, "Oh, that sucks for them, it's raining." And it even took me a second to process that Jim was down on one knee. "Oh, that sucks, it's raining. They're so cute, I just.... ... [blink] Wait. WAIT! IS HE... HE'S.... RIGHT THERE! IN THE RAIN, YOU IDIOT! OH MY GOD!" And then I started making noises. I... don't even know how to describe the noises I made. They were quiet noises, because my parents are sleeping. I literally finished watching this episode, like, ten minutes ago, I'm not even kidding. First my weekly evening lecture got rescheduled for Thursday, and then my dad came to pick me up and drive me home for the weekend, and I didn't get home until midnight. (WHY IS NOBODY ONLINE FOR ME TO TALK TO AT TWO IN THE MORNING?) But they were noises nonetheless. I think I gasped. I think I then said, "Oh my God," a fraction of a second before Pam. I know my hands flew to my mouth.
Can I stop and talk a second about how wonderfully John Krasinski and Jenna Fischer pulled off that scene? It was so, so real. He ran up to her and his "I couldn't wait," was pretty much the most romantic thing I've ever heard. And then all he said was, "Pam, will you marry me?" And Pam's face when she realized what was happening! And her "Oh my God! Oh my God!" Like she couldn't believe this was really happening to her. Like she coudln't believe that the universe was really letting her be this happy. I can't love on it enough. And then she said YES! I think I held my breath until she said it. And then I let it sink in. And then I made more noises. Very quiet, strained, squealing, "Oh my God!" noises. It really happened! And then that kiss! WOW.
And neither Jim nor I could stop smiling after that.
I know, I know that there's still plenty of time when they'll be apart. I know there's more than enough time for things to go awry. Plotlines require obstacles. But I can't think about that now. I'm letting myself be DAMN HAPPY right now! Is it sad that I'm this giddy over a fictional engagement? Yes. I don't care, though.
Jim and Pam are engaged! Let the bells of Dunder Mifflin chime out their love. My heart soars with the eagle's nest.
The only other thing I can think of to say about the wonderful episode is that I love Amy Ryan. She is so great in this role. I love the irony of Jim basically inadvertently putting Michael in the position he was in a couple of years ago. Holly's face while Michale was doing his Klump routine was priceless. But even after seeing full-on Michael Scott, she still likes him. That is one special lady.
Also, Ryan Howard is still a douchebag. But now he's just a pathetic douchebag, which makes it kind of sad. But not really.
Also, in speaking of pathetic, I now feel sorry for Andy. What is Angela thinking? But oh, Dwangela. I missed you guys. And your rendez-vous. Which have now gone to a whole new level. Yikes!
You know, I missed the third season finale and the fourth season premiere when they first aired, too. I saw "The Job" a couple of weeks after it aired because I'd been in England. I feel a lot like I felt after that right now. I had rehearsal during "Fun Run." I feel a lot like I did after that right now, too.
Jim Halpert and Pam Beesly are engaged. They're getting married, guys.
I'm watching that episode, especially that scene, over and over again tomorrow. It's inevitable.
This has been an AMAZING week in TV.
I'm going to go to forums and look at the moment the fandom exploded now.
